The World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) is an international animal welfare organization with a clear vision to rid the world of animal cruelty. They are a non-profit, registered charity organization dedicated to protecting animals and are the world's largest alliance of over 1000 independent animal welfare groups. These member societies are spread throughout over 150 countries with several hundred-thousand international supporters. The WSPA has been around for over 25 years, and they are on a mission to build a global animal welfare movement. They do this by assisting animals of all types from stray dogs and cats to farm animals and those affected by natural disasters or abandonment. The four primary animal welfare areas they focus on are:

  • Companion Animals
  • Commercial Exploitation of Wildlife
  • Farm Animals
  • Disaster Management
